CHANNEL GLOW UP ENERGY

Ladies, it’s getting hot as Hades outside, but sweat doesn't have to be the only reason for your glow. We've hit August—a.k.a. the month of golden light, sundresses, iced drinks, and YES, main character energy. If you’ve ever read a romance novel and thought, "Why can’t I walk into a room like a slow-motion heroine to shut up those cackling MFs that stole from the corporation?" This blog is your official invitation to do just that.

Because you, my dear, are not the side character. You’re the one they cross the ballroom for. The one they plot and wait for in the hallway. The one who deserves to feel confident, powerful, and just a little bit extra. So, let’s talk about how to channel that big romance energy in real life.

1. Walk Like You Own the Plot (Because You Do)

Every romance heroine has that moment when she walks into the room and everyone turns. It’s not about what she’s wearing (though, yes to heels and hair flips), it’s about the vibe. Shoulders back, head high, and a mental playlist that says, "I am THE storyline."

Try this:

  • Play your favorite power anthem in your headphones while you strut through the grocery store like it’s Paris Fashion Week.

  • Imagine your love interest is watching from across the room, ready to fall in love with your posture alone.

  • Delusion is the KEY to any manifestation. You have to SEE it to BECOME it. So, YES! You are sweet like honey. You are the best thing since slice bread. Baby, you are sexy, powerful, fun, and RICH as hell. Surround yourself with images of the woman you already are, that reality has yet to show. Look at her, talk to hear, daydream about her to train your mind that YOU ARE HER.

    2. Speak with Spice and Sparkle

Romance leads don’t stutter through small talk. They flirt, tease, and drop lines like mic drops. Whether it’s a quippy comeback or a soft-spoken truth, their words land. We all have to be careful out in these streets. However, if you are in a relationship or familiar with the guy you've been wanting to approach,

    Try this:

    • Rehearse a go-to flirty line or playful compliment. Use it at the coffee shop.

Get sexy with it. Be bold. The women in my books know what they want, and they have no issues getting slick & spicy with it.

    • Practice the stare. You know, the mischievous eyeball caress that says, "I'm sexy and I know it. "

    • Practice a sultry pause. Let silence do the talking for a beat. (Also, yes, your smirk is legal and effective.)

  • 3. Dress Like You Fell Out of Chapter 10

Let’s be honest—romance characters always seem to have the perfect outfit for every emotionally-charged moment. You deserve the same.

    Try this:

    • Choose clothes that make you feel like you’re about to run into your ex while holding hands with your hotter, richer, emotionally available new man.

    • Say YES to bold lipstick, dramatic earrings, or that dress you keep "saving for a special occasion." Spoiler alert: the special occasion is you.

    • Perfume like a plot point. Make them remember your scent like it haunts them in chapter 24.

    • Look, we know that clothes don't make the woman. You can be in a paper bag and still have your man or men breaking their necks. It's the CONFIDENCE you radiate. Shine!!

  • 4. Love Yourself Like the Heroine Always Learns To

The best part of any romance isn’t just the swoon—it’s the heroine realizing she was the prize all along. Before the kisses, before the confessions, she levels up by believing in herself.

    Try this:

    • Write a love letter to yourself. (Seriously. Do it.)

    • Set boundaries like you're guarding the gates to your castle.

    • Celebrate small wins: You saved money? You finished another book? You finally took the car through the car wash and vacuumed it. IT'S A WIN! Cue the confetti.

  • Okay, I'm heading out.

This August, don’t just read the romance—live it. Leave the drama in the pages, but embrace the style, the smolder. Channel that heroine glow-up energy and remember: you don’t need a love interest to be the star of your story. But if one shows up? They better bring thunderstorm energy, too.

Stay radiant, stay ridiculous, and keep being THAT leading lady.

    Luv Ya'll!!

    .
